Runaway Train!

Ada's not quite walking but she is pushing her little cart very enthusiastically. Some might say too enthusiastically... ouch!

Hopefully more videos to come, now that I've figured out all the techmolonology!

I'm Too Old For This!

Every now and then I take Ada back to the computer and try to take her photo the old way....

Remember back when she was calm and quiet and cooperative in her photo sessions? Not so much any more. She tolerates it briefly:

...then starts to thrash about....
...and to complain loudly. She'd much rather be on the floor chasing the cat, licking the fridge door (why??? SO weird) or looking for small objects to put in her mouth.

(By the way, I'm totally in love with her kimono, which I must admit I purchased myself because I couldn't resist. Isn't it cute?)

Swimming Into Year 2

We celebrated Ada's 1st Birthday last weekend with a first dip in the pool. Ada handled it with her usual mellowness, despite the many cooing adults hovering around her. She was a little tense at first but soon relaxed and reclined in her fabulous watercraft.

My Hat

Ada's got lots of new words - up, down, cat, hat, that, agua, boom-boom (I want that, or please take that), uh-oh and several others that I'm not remembering. My favorite is her use of the word "hat" which, very logically, applies to anything on one's head:

(Thanks to John and Olinda for the very cool video camera!)

Ada on Mother's Day

I'm not sure about the thought process I went through to dress Ada in white and then let her crawl around on the ground... clearly a mental blockage some where. Despite getting a bit grimy, she did look pretty cute on Mother's day. It's not a dress but it comes close, right?

I'm not sure if I've shared my theory about dresses but I kinda feel like until gravity is working with you and you're walking around, a dress has just got to be annoying and uncomfortable... crawling in a dress? Uh, no. So, the second Ada starts walking, I'll put her in a dress. Until then, this is as girly as she gets.
(Thanks to the The Leverings for this delicious ensemble -- girly and lacy but not a dress! Perfect!)

Born to be Wild

Vroom! Here's Ada, about to set off on an adventure on her new Harley. Despite lacking the black leather and chains, she does look pretty tough, wouldn't you agree?
